My Prayer

August 7, 2010
Abba Father, God, Holy One, the only One who really know what is going on and why it hurts sometimes,

I don't understand why this world rejects you. You say that, "I am the truth, the way, and the life" and I believe you. It is the only thing that I have ever gotten for free that is of any value. And how do you place value on something called eternal life? Am I really supposed to say 'Thank you?' That seems so lame. You deserve more and the only thing I have to give is my love and you tell me that my love is enough.

I hear that some people could care less what your Son has to say and, you know, that really pisses me off. I was so low, so down, and when I didn't deserve anything from anyone - you were there. Despite my success, things the world told me that I needed, on the inside I was watching everything burn. And you still stood there with me even when I hated everything your people represented.

I read Romans today and found out you died for me while I was still a sinner. Who wouldn't want to hear about that? Especially those who are dying on the inside to afraid to cry and wondering if this is all life has to offer. You offer so much. your peace is exactly the way the bible describes it, a peace that transcends all understanding. I have no idea why I feel good but I do. That is when I know you are near, standing with me when I am strong, and holding me up when I just don't have the wind to make that last run.  Thank you for your peace. And I am going tell the world about you.

Earth is not a hallmark story waiting to happen and yes, bad things happens. What God did promise is that He will rescue us and He did. But most (including me) wish that the whole saving part included a bank account with far ...

What makes a good Christian?

July 21, 2010

No, this is not a trick question. Some friends and I fell into this conversation and I would like to read what you think. As far as I know, 'good works' is not the key to 'goodness'. For me, it is about my relationship with our Lord. The degree in which I love Him inspires me to love and do things other people consider 'good works'.
