Christian Fiction Novel, Of Strength and Providence

Bartender Samuel Palo lives on the lovely Anna Maria Island in Florida surrounded by his adopted family and his coworkers from The Zoo, a bar where the drinks are cheap and the best food on the menu is frozen solid first. Sam is living with a secret he thinks is safely locked away in back of his mind. Some sins are not meant to be forgotten but forgiven. Blessed with incredible strength, Sam finds he can do little to stop his fragile world from coming apart. The Family, an eccentric Christian community, is dedicated to helping God's special children find peace. Can they help Sam find the peace that only God can provide before he takes matters into his own hands?

“God creates out of nothing. Wonderful you say. Yes, to be sure, but he does what is still more wonderful: he makes saints out of sinners.” Søren Kierkegaard, The Journals of Kierkegaard

You will find that I firmly believe that when Jesus said, “For God so loved the world,” He meant this place - where we live.

So be warned, I consider this novel to be PG-17. I have chosen to use curse words and slang as I have seen them used. In addition, I do not embellish violence, prostitution, premarital sex, or drug use although there are situations in this novel where these events occur. I do not agree with sin and I do not offer any more detail than is necessary. I have intentionally left out any dialogue where the name of the God is used in vain. One has to drawn a line.

'Of Strength anf Providence' is a modern parable focused on the urban ministry. My sole intention is to show the power of His kingdom here on earth. May you see how much God loves you, and is with you, no matter where you are in “the world” at the moment. We are not alone.

"For God so loved the world..." John 3.16
